Tropico 6 Gameplay Trailer Shows New Features & Assassination
El Presidente is back and he's still not lost his ability to charm his citizens. And ummm when he can't charm them, he'll deal with the situation... delicately.
Like with a bullet between the eyes. Tropico 6 certainly hasn't lost its kookiness, besides making the thing about assassination, which is a dreadful thing, less serious.
The publishers, Kalypso Media have released a new gameplay trailer ahead of Gamescom 2018. Apart from showcasing the gorgeous game engine, it highlights some of the cool news things... and well assassinations in the game.
So the main things the trailer shows off are firstly the archipelagos. Land masses with many islands are a first in the series. The scale of the game has been blown up.
But of course this would mean you'll need to think about how to transport your citizens across these islands. So you can now build tunnels into mountains. And cable cars... which are more for tourists.
You can also customise your palace this time around. Well, as El Presidente, you deserve to have a say about how your palace looks like.
The trailer also shows a brief scene of El Presidente giving an election speech. That's a feature that was drop in the last few Tropico games that is making a welcome come back.
Finally,... I've been saving the craziest feature for the last. You can now steal monuments from around the world. Such as the Bradenburg Gate which the trailer shows.
Riiiigghtt... after all the showcase on larger maps, cool new transportation and customisation, you just had to pull me back to the zany Tropico dark humour.
Tropico 6 is being developed by a new developer. Limbic Entertainment previously developed Might & Magic: Heroes VII which wasn't received all that well.
I'll give the new devs the benefit of the doubt, but I'd suggest some caution here. I played Heroes VII and I couldn't stand having to play it for hours (it was for a review so I had to do it).
Tropico 6 releases for the PC in January 2019 and comes out for the consoles in Summer 2019.
