Steel Division 2 New In-Game Trailer Shows Off Realistic Art Direction
Eugen System's Steel Division 2 just got a brand new trailer. This time, a proper in-game trailer, but not quite gameplay trailer yet.
While Steel Division: Normandy 44 had a more colourful artistic vibe to it, Steel Division 2 is going straight up realistic. And Eugen System's IRISZOOM engine has the capability to produce some realistic looking battlefields... well... in the past when it's zoomed out.
Zoom in closer and you can see some blemishes in terms of some lack of detail. But this Steel Division 2 trailer blows my mind. It's close up and showcasing terrain, foliage and units that are pretty darn detailed.
Beyond graphics, the trailer also hints at the new Eastern Front setting, showing some Russian tanks, planes and artillery. The big thing is the new dynamic strategic campaigns.
So steel Division 2 isn't just about winning the battle but also the war. Managing the strategic aspect of your battalions, supplies and reinforcements.
The game will ship with 25 different maps with single-player, co-op and up to 10 versus 10 multiplayer.
Eugen Systems hasn't announced a release date for Steel Division 2 yet, but it's likely we might get a release date closer to the end of this year or early next year. Whenever Eugen is comfortable to set a release date in stone.
My best guess would be Summer 2019. But the thing about guesses, they can be wrong.
