Star Control: Origins Promises A Living Universe. New Gameplay Trailer Shows Diverse Universe
Stardock is calling Star Control: Origins an action-adventure RPG which makes it not so much a strategy game. But it is of interest to me as it is said to have a living universe where things are happening without your input.
There's other pilots, stranded travelers, life-forms on planets which you can get down to explore and some dark sinister things.
I hope there's some real diversity here rather than the boring procedural repetition like in Spore or the initial No Man Sky.
Star Control" Origins is a prequel set before the old Star Control which came out in 1990. They've buffed up the graphics and added a whole load of dynamic stuff in it, but at its core, it's looking very much like the old classic in terms of its gameplay experience on offer.
So yeah this isn't a strategy game per say, but I'm curious to see how they've given in the modern interpretation.
Star Control: Origins will be released for the PC on September 20th. It will be priced at USD$39.99. You can pre-order it for USD$34.99 right now.
