Space Hulk: Tactics Comes Out for the PC on 9th October
Publishers, Focus Home Interactive has revealed that Space Hulk: Tactics will be coming out for the PC on 9th October this year. It is billed to be a faithful adaptation of the board game classic... with a twist.
Although quite how a game could be faithful to the original while adding a twist which essentially makes it different from the original... is a mystery to me. But you know what they say... marketing fluff.
I do hope though that the game itself isn't just a complete gimmick, which I believe it won't be considering the reputation of the developers, Cyanide Studios.
I'll go out on a limb to say this will... probably be better than the previous two Space Hulk games (yes I'm including Deathwing which is a first-person shooter).
Space Hulk: Tactics is a turn-based strategy game while follows in line with the Space Hulk table-top game, veers a little by adding cards.
Cards add a little more randomness and strategic depth by giving you more interesting decisions to make.
For fans of Warhammer, you'll be pleased to learn that customisation will be a big deal in Space Hulk: Tactics. There are 4 Space Marine Chapters and 4 Genestealer Hive Fleets you could play a and customise in fine detail.
As the release date trailer shows, you'll be able to play as the Space Marine or the Genestealers, which is a first for the Space Hulk. And yes, this is for the single-player campaign as well (on top of multiplayer), which is mighty interesting.
I'll give this one a go when it releases on October 9th. Expect a review of it sometime after release.
