Here's What I Thought About Valve's New Game, Artifact
A new game from Valve is a rare thing. Which is why Arifact, received lots of pre-release attention. The new DOTA 2 digital card game from Valve designed by legendary CCG, Richard Garfield, was hailed are revolutionary by some, but now that it’s out, I take a look at the game and see if it lives up to he hype.
This is NOT a review. I decided against reviewing it since as a casual digital card game I thought Artifact was simply not my type of game. It would be unfair if I actually reviewed it without understanding the nuance of the strategies in play.
In the video below, I share with you what I think about the game and in particular whether I thought Artifact would live up to all the hype and promise.
I do think Artifact is a good game albeit one that isn’t exactly easy to get into. At least compared to some of the competition in the card game space.
I believe that it will find an audience, but it will not be a massive success, catering to a wide audience. It’s a rather niche game that will appeal to a subset of the gaming audience and that’s perfectly okay.
What do you think of Artifact? Have you played it? Do you plan to get into it? Tell me in the comments below.
