Friday FTW! Thank You Strategy Gamers!
Boom! Just like that, and it's Friday. The week didn't just plod along. It raced at breakneck speed and here we are, at beginning of what I hope will be an awesome weekend. So what's your gaming this weekend?
If you've been paying attention to the blog, yes, I have finally published my review for Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War. Super cool game... not so cool long name. You can check out the review over here.
I don't see anything near in the horizon other than Two Point Hospital, which I've written about in the last Friday FTW post. I picked up what looks like a neat indie game.
Star Traders: Frontiers
What is it? I don't know. Haven't played it. But what I read about it piqued my curiosity enough for me to take the plunge and click on purchase.
It isn't quite described as a strategy game, at least on the Steam store. It's an RPG with turn-based tactical combat. What got my interest was the open procedural universe and jobs. Specifically a merchant...IN SPACE!
Not sure how solid the trade mechanics are like, but I'll be giving this a spin this weekend. I will be reviewing this game. If... and only if I can justify it has enough strategic elements.
Website Design Thoughts
I mentioned about this last week. Just rethinking about it and I haven't changed my mind. I'm not going to make design changes to the blog for quite some time. It's simply not my priority.
My number one objective at the moment is to get more people aware of this blog and get them to visit my humble blog. The current design is simple and clean. It does its job without any frills.
I'd love to have a new design, but naah, not for some time.
How Has The Blog Been Doing. You Guys Are Awesome
Talking about the blog, July has been an awesome month. We've managed to hit the same number I used to get with my previous blog (maybe even more).
And I ran my previous blog for 8 years! So it's quite encouraging to see Frags of War reach the same traffic number in 3 months.
I must say a big thank you goes out to all of you who have visited and continue to visit this blog. It's really encouraging to see a lot of interest in the strategy genre.
It has given me more confidence that it was the right thing to focus on strategy games than to create another generic video game blog. As I've stated in my about page, I'll do my best to make sure this blog stays unique and focused on strategy games.
There's more cool content coming in the near future, so do visit Frags of War to check it out from time to time. And I do appreciate any feedback. If you have any please share in the comments. Thank you all again.
So what are your plans for the weekend? What will you be playing?
