Europa Universalis IV: Dharma DLC Expansion Releases On 6th September
Another DLC expansion will be released for our favourite Paradox grand strategy game... well at least my favourite grand strategy game. Europa Universalis IV: Dharma releases 6th September and brings some pretty cool features. Read on to learn what it's about.
Dharma puts the focus on the Indian subcontinent. A rich and vast land with powerful kings and a large populace.
The new mechanics are centred around the battle for territorial and trade control over India. There also seems to be a lot of focus on policies, trade, and more stuff to do during peace time.
Based on the highlighted features, Dharma seems to be a pretty significant expansion. This is what Paradox highlights on its official page:
Design Your Government
Unlock reforms that will define how you govern your kingdom or republic, earning free policies and boosting the power of some estates.
Reworked Policy System
Policies get a new look in the free update, but Dharma will include special bonuses that make this system even more attractive.
Trade Company Investments
Upgrade and improve the provinces tied to your trade companies, conferring bonuses both to the European master and neighboring Indian nations.
New Indian Mission Trees
Unique mission paths for the most important Indian sultanates and kingdoms.
New Indian Estates
Alongside a free update to the estate system, India gets five new castes. Raise the brahmins to reduce unrest in a province or install Jain governors for a boost to income while reducing manpower..
New Mughal Culture Bonus
The Mughal Empire can assimilate and accommodate newly conquered cultures with ease.
Europeans can buy a foothold into trade charter zones in Africa and Asia, if they can find a prince that trusts them.
Upgraded Trade Centers
Invest in the development of your Centers of Trade
And more, including
new ways to suppress rebellion, the monsoon season, new uses for colonists in non-colonial development, scornful insults, multiplayer teams, new art, and a host of new achievements.
As with all Paradox expansions, the DLC will be accompanied with a patch that will bring the system reworks like the new policy system to everyone, even those that don't own the new DLC.
We don't exactly know what patch 1.26 the Mughal Update (as Paradox has coined) will bring to the game, but expect a detailed break down next week when Paradox reveals more about this update.
Europa Universalis IV: Dharma is priced at USD$19.99 (RM39) or your regional equivalent. The expansion will also be released with a content pack priced at USD$7.99 that will add some unique elephants (new elephant models will be included in the expansion but it will be a generic one for all Indian nations) and more unit variety.
