Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 Delayed to January 2019
Focus Home Interactive released a brand new trailer showcasing the faction in the space battle RTS set in the grim dark future, Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2. With this trailer, they also reveal a new release date for it, January 2019.
Originally slated for release in September 2018 (and I was really looking forward to this one), the devs have decided to give it a couple more months.
Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 attempts to outdo the first game which I thought was a brilliant mix of real time RTS naval warfare in space, where ships moved at a slow pace, it was more like a dance of war.
This was then held together with a dynamic campaign star map with the different factions controlling different sectors. It was insanely challenging but immensely satisfying if you're able to win against all odds.
A huge portion of the missions was against the odds. You were always outnumbered and outgunned. Your only advantage is your intelligence in using the special abilities of your ships.
I have to admit I was a was a pretty crappy commander on this front. My only complaint about the first game was the number of mission types. After a couple of hours, it just seemed a little repetitive.
Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 will feature a massive 12 factions. 3 different dynamic solo campaigns featuring the tyranid, necrons and imperium. A whole slew of multiplayer modes to blow your friends or strangers away.
But I don't for see it being any easier than the first game. Expect a very challenging game to master and win. There will be to betas for those that pre-order the game. Can't wait to play that Necron campaign.
