Fans of the Desperados series rejoice! Desperados III was announced at Gamescom2018. It's being developed by the creators of Shadow Tactis and isn't due to be out till 2019.
The next entry in Ubisoft Blue Byte Studios' popular city-builder series, Anno 1800 will be coming to the PC on February 26th, 2019. This was announced in a 4K gameplay trailer for Gamescom 2018 which you can view below.
Publishers, Focus Home Interactive has revealed that Space Hulk: Tactics will be coming out for the PC on 9th October this year. It is billed to be a faithful adaptation of the board game classic... with a twist.
We, the Total War fans have been clamouring for a China Total War for ages, I remember enthusiastic discussions about it after the release of Medieval Total War back in 2002, in fan forums and even the official Total War forum. Now, that we've got our wish fulfilled, something about Total War: THREE KINGDOMS just doesn't feel right.
Creative Assembly has released a new 'Let's Play' video showcasing an ambush battle from Total War: THREE KINGDOMS, ahead of Gamescom 2018. This battle will be the one available for people to try out on the show floor.
El Presidente is back and he's still not lost his ability to charm his citizens. And ummm when he can't charm them, he'll deal with the situation... delicately.
A new Jagged Alliance game has been announced and it’s going a little bananas with it’s backstory. Jagged Alliance: Rage! Takes place 20 years after the first Jagged Alliance and is developed by Cliffhanger Games. These are the devs that made Jagged Alliance: Reloaded which is a modern take on the classic. That game got less than stellar reviews.
Another DLC expansion will be released for our favourite Paradox grand strategy game... well at least my favourite grand strategy game. Europa Universalis IV: Dharma releases 6th September and brings some pretty cool features. Read on to learn what it's about.
Creative Assembly released a brand new in-engine trailer for Total War: THREE KINGDOMS (can I just say, how annoying this capitalisation convention CA is using, is to an editor). They've finally drawn the curtains up on the campaign map... well at least we have an idea of it.
11 Bit Studios released their second free update for their hit survival city-builder, Frostpunk. Update 1.1.2 will now allow you to rename your citizens and automatons. Which is nice in terms of immersion, but that's not all.
Like the sunset and sunrise, the changing of the weather, the horrible traffic in the city, the annoying politicians who say stupid things. Just like those things that will always be... there's a new Football Manager and it's coming out on November 2nd.
Boom! Just like that, and it's Friday. The week didn't just plod along. It raced at breakneck speed and here we are, at beginning of what I hope will be an awesome weekend. So what's your gaming this weekend?
I would be too fast to judge Phantom Doctrine as merely a spy thriller reskin of XCOM. Sure, mechanics-wise, it looks a lot like the Firaxis reboot of the classic. But this could be something special.
July comes to a close and August sees some new strategy game releases. It’s a better month, but not super busy with new games.
Steel Division was one of those under the radar neat RTS games that I thought more people should have played. It didn't do badly, but it didn't light up the charts as well. Eugen Systems, the developers, are hoping Steel Division II will fare much better.
No Star Ruler 2 isn't a new and improved cosmic measuring device. It's a 4X real time strategy game by indie devs Blind Mind Studios. And they've just made it open source for the world to dissect, improve and hopefully support the game into the future.
Total War: ROME II isn't just getting a hefty update as I wrote about the Ancestral update here. As I predicted a new campaign pack has been announced. Rise of the Republic is a brand new campaign centred around early Rome before it was an empire. They're calling this a prequel to Total War: ROME II.
